MS Moves

MS Moves

Sadly, we weren’t able to secure a grant to continue with MS Moves. CASA needs to raise $30,000 in order to keep the program running, to subsidise a qualified trainer, an accredited dietitian, a psychologist, equipment, venue hire and administration costs to manage and administer it successfully.
Thanks to the generosity of Hollard Insurance and one of its employees, we collect half of the necessary amount. We still need to raise more money to cover the whole year of the program. We believe that with the generosity of the community we will be able to reach the goal of continuing with the program for helping people suffering from Multiple Sclerosis.
If you’re interested in finding out more on how you can help, please email donations@casaonline.org.au or contact Marta on 0415 356 847. All donations to CASA are Tax deductible and we are forever grateful for your support.

I joined the MS Moves program in October 2016. I still remember the day I joined. My coordination was very poor. I was unable to bounce a rubber ball as instructed by the trainer. I said, “I can’t do this exercise because I don’t have coordination in my right hand” The trainer replied, “don’t worry, today you can’t but tomorrow you will, because I’ll teach you techniques which you can practice until you can bounce that ball properly” After a couple of weeks I was really surprised to see so much improvement. I’m now amazed at how far I’ve progressed. My balance and flexibility have improved greatly and I feel more confident. As part of MS Moves we had healthy cooking demonstrations. My wife joined me for those classes and it has really benefited my family. We have improved our diet and that has also helped me manage my MS. By eating healthier meals I managed to lose weight and feel so much better physically and mentally. I wish CASA would be able to continue running this fabulous program so more people like me can better manage this disease. Unfortunately not many places offer such a great program like MS Moves. I would like to thank CASA and Mounties Club for providing the resources needed to make this program possible. It has given me hope knowing that no matter how bad my physical and emotional condition can be, I can still live a fulfilling life.
