Workplace Giving

Looking for an easy way to reduce your taxable income?

The simplest way to reduce taxable income is to give donations to a charity. Every donation you make to a registered charity like us, greater than two dollars is considered tax-deductible. Charitable giving can help those in need or support a worthy cause, but at the same time it can also lower your income tax expenses. Workplace Giving Program is a cost-effective way to give while receiving a tax benefit, as well as payroll giving is the best model of making a donation.
Workplace Giving Program – is a powerful, simple and effective way for an individual and companies to contribute in making a real difference within the community.
Workplace Giving involves employees and employers donating regularly and directly to charity from their salaries (to reduce their tax).
Donating through your workplace allows you to make a single gift all at once or to spread your donation throughout the year. It is safe, easy and can help you make an even bigger impact.
Small donations from many employees add up to making a real difference for families in need of emergency relief, food and health programs to improve their wellbeing.
If your employer match all the employee gifts amplifying change for redouble the impact!

Benefits for employees

With Workplace Giving, all your donations are made from your pre-tax salary. This reduces your salary for taxation purposes but does not affect the amount you are giving to Community Action Services Australia. For example, to give $100 per month to CASA from your salary costs you only $68.50 per month (based on a marginal tax rate of 30% for taxable income between $25,001 and $75,000 and a Medicare Levy of 1.5%). As it is pre-tax, there is also no need to keep or present receipts at tax time, just set it and forget it.

Benefits for employers

Participating in Workplace Giving is a great way for companies to demonstrate their social responsibility by committing their business to the long-term economic and social development of communities and families. This in turn sends positive signals to investors, shareholders, employees and customers alike. Employers can further support their employees’ efforts by matching their donations – demonstrating an organisational commitment to staff interests.
Your BUSINESS is not a charity but CHARITY can improve your business.

Benefits for CASA

Workplace Giving greatly reduces Community Actions Services Australia’s administration costs because the agency only processes one donation from each employer, and is not required to issue receipts to the employees making the donations. Therefore, more money reaches the people who need it most!

How to set up Workplace Giving

  • Ask your employer to include CASA in their Workplace Giving program.
  • Complete the form overleaf, and give it to your payroll manager.
  • Your donation (you determine the amount) will be deducted from your salary each pay period.
  • You have the option of receiving.

Benefits for the Community

  • Workplace giving reduces CASA’s administration costs (only one donation is processed from each employer, and individual donation receipts are not necessary).
  • This means more of your money can go to where it is needed most.

Your Dollars at Work

  • CASA guarantees that your donations will be used only at the service of people in need within the community.
  • We strive to keep our administration and fundraising cost below 10% of our income, so more of your money goes to those who need it most.

Your financial assistance is indispensable for us to reach our goals and objectives to become a major support and motivation to the whole community.

Where the money will go?

  • It is a win-win-win for business, employees and charities. Employers enjoy greater staff engagement, retention, productivity, reputation and social impact.
  • Employees give in a smarter, tax effective way and build a sense of pride in their employer.
  • Charities get regular funds and low cost access to valuable skills and strong partnerships.

What is Workplace Giving?

One of the big needs in South Western Sydney is to establish an Emergency Relief Program because the government stopped much of these funding.
CASA has tried many times to get this funding without positive results. With your help, we are ready to set up our own Emergency Relief Program to benefit of our community.
